RaMaDaN TEXTS...

A BEAUTIFUL SISTER by the name of Sis. Charlene encouraged me to develop a personal blog. Throughout the last 11 days or so Ramadan has been going on and some may find it very difficult to go through for 30 days. Therefore, I have been sending out "Ramadan Texts" throughout the day to help to encourage those who are partaking in Ramadan to continue with it until the end... Ramadan is not solely for one particular faith group but it is for all whom wants to reap the various benefits... Sis. Charlene suggested that I should also share some of my "Ramadan Texts" with you all... and I thought, "WELL, THATS A GOOD IDEA"... Each day tune to read a Wombman's Wisdom "Ramadan Texts" whose intention is to re-energize us as we fast the days away- TOGETHER :0D

  2. Ramadan Day 2... Yesterday wasn't so bad right??? I feel so energetic and alive... Keeping in mind that this is how we are suppose to eat any way is what get's me through the fast. As we are taught, we are just abstaining from food for a certain period of time- this is basically our "One meal a day" as prescribed by The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad for his followers. Though we are observing Ramadan, let's not offend anyone- don't forget to pop in your mouth a clove or two (lol)... Holy Quran pt. 2 here we go... "Together We Can!!!!" Don't stress, we're blessed- Its Ramadan!!!! :0)

  3. Ramadan Dia Tres,

So far, so good! I remember the Min. Expressing that when we fast/discipline ourselves from that which is natural (our bodies call for food & other things that are natural) then when situations arise in our lives that are unnatural; thy won't affect us. (paraphrase- want exact quote let me know). I remember Sis. Ava mentioning that when we are fasting and when we hear a growl or 2, we should be able to say, 'stomach be still- I'm the master over you' :0)... In other words when most of us hear our stomachs growling or making noise we allow it to tell us what to do- we hear a lil noise and we run to get something to eat... Lol... Lastly, when we break our fasts every day let us pay attention to what we consume. Don't wait for the sun to go down and go eat a big bag of chips (talking to myself- lol). Let's make sure we are intaking a healthy and balanced meal and drink lots of liquids. *Water and lemon juice works wonders for the skin. Until tomorrow!!! Together We Can- Together We Will !!! :0)

  4. Ramadan Day 4-

I'm sooooooo hungry... I'm just going to break my fast and eat... I
know I'm hungry because I hear my stomach making noise- so I must feed
it quickly!!! Wait, what is that you say? Well, if it's not hunger
that makes my stomach growl, which means I'm suppose to eat something
& quick... Then what is it???

"Muscle contractions move and push your meal continually downward in a
process known as peristalsis. Besides moving your food along its
digestive path, these contractions also churn your food, liquid and
digestive juices together- resulting in a gooey mix known as chyme.

Stomach growling can result as your body digests food. Moving along
with the solid and liquid chyme ingredients are air and gasses. As the
ingredients get pushed around and broken down, pockets of air and gas
get squeezed and produce the growling noises we hear."

Wow, so I'm not really hungry... Ok, well back to my Fast.

  5. Day 5 of RaMaDaN
Imagine being in a situation where there is a limited supply of food.
Would we take the food away from our babies? Or will be able to
maintain for a few days? If we do not have the ability to fast then
we would go crazy in such situations- not knowing how to deal with
this "hunger pain". We would consume our food supply quickly leaving
ourselves with nothing in only a few days. Fasting serves as a
training for us for such dire circumstances.

    HR!!!

  8. 8th day of RaMaDan
Aside from the spiritual aspects and health benefits of fasting, there are some fun benefits also...
Fasting works as a pretty good diet plan... We can now fit into last years clothes.
    Fasting works as a money-saver...
During this recession we can keep extra money in our pockets/purse.
    Lastly,
    Fasting works as a motivator...
Now we will actually be engaged in our work to make the day go by faster.

    (lol)

Happy Ramadan from your sister & friend,

  12. Day 12-
Thinking of those who are less fortunate and thinking of how they don't have a choice but to fast. Ramadan gives me a glimpse into their lives and makes me appreciate HIS mercy towards me/us...
